I just finished reading your Christian Meditation book, and I want to express my gratitude. My own spiritual path has led me to most of the authors you have referenced, including Eckhart Tolle, who I actually had the privilege of meeting many years ago in Chicago.I have drawn similar conclusions with regard to the meaning of the "Kingdom of Heaven" that Jesus spoke about. I have referred to it over the years as "Communion," which I am beginning to understand as none-duality.It is refreshing to learn more about the early church, (without churches), and much of the other historical information that you wrote about. The "Cloud of Unknowing" is one of my favorite books, and always serves as a means to renew my practice when I have struggled to keep engaged. Your use of scripture and the Christian mystics, as well as Alan Watts and Eckhart is perfect.In addition to the insights I gained from your book and the reflection of my personal spiritual process that it strikingly represents, I wanted to thank you for taking the risk to include your own personal insights about the "Lord's Prayer." These reflections are a great summation of the whole text and beautifully amplify the meaning of the words attributed to Jesus; both as a sacred prayer and as a sacred Christian spiritual life-practice. Certainly one of the best books I have read on the subject.
With great simplicity, humor, and love, Eckhart Tolle brings new meanings into practices and meditation. He instills in us the joy and comfort one gains from practices and meditation - a calmer life, greater awareness and consciousness, patience and compassion for others.His knowledge of other traditions is incisive, filled with wonder. It was a joy to read him.
Just what I wanted. Christ advocated meditation just like all the other religions!

I'm still quite shocked after reading this book about the spiritual teachings of Jesus and Eckhart Tolle. Nevertheless, in spite of my shock, I must admit it has given me a clearer understanding of the promise of the kingdom of heaven and eternal life, as well as the symbolic meanings of the kingdom of hell, the prince of this world, the re-birth of baptism, the light of the body, the eye, the heart, the tongue, the mustard seed, the living waters, the bread of life, the good fruit, the Holy Spirit and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, among others. What can I say? This book will introduce you to a Jesus you never expected to meet (which definitely explains my shock) but it also offers as a clearer understanding of his and Eckhart Tolle's teachings. So my honest advice is to check it out!
