WOW! I wasn't sure what kind of story it was going to end up being but I freaking loved it! Elizabeth was so abused and Carson was the only person to see past the homeless person exterior, they needed each other. This book may have an adverse effect on some people.
OMG! Talk about living on edge. A whirlwind of activities and events that keep you flipping page after page. One rollercoaster ride with a plethora of emotions to sort through. One amazing storyline and strong plot bring this read roaring to life beautifully. The characters were realistic with personalities and depth that drew you in. Sparks fly as suspense and intrigue ensues in epic proportions. All the drama, action packed, heart pounding, nailbiting, hard hitting thriller that brings all the pieces together for one wild ride. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Remarkable job Black , thanks for sharing this little gem with us.I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advanced Reader Copy of this story.
I only got to 50%, this book makes little to zero sense.1. Carson hits women. Women who shoot at homeless people? Twice?2. Members of his club KICK said homeless women. No I don't care that she was out in traffic. If you want this club to have my sympathy, they should not be kicking women in the stomach with motorcycle boots.3. His brother had a genetic disposition to drug abuse? What?4. There is extremely little rhyme or reason for these characters to even be near each other. There's nothing to build on here. Just nothing.5. What even is this club? The parents of rich kids bought their sons bikes when one of their group died and then they got involved with drugs? There is no hierarchy, no order, nothing's clear, no ones introduced AND THEY KEEP HITTING THEIR WOMEN.6. and then there's the way the "leader" deals with the one (I literally don't even know if he's an actual member) who kicked her in the most degrading fashion. Like that's not brotherhood or camraderie.7. I'm so exasperated because Elizabeth herself is ok. Not great, but the pieces were here for a sweet story and I couldn't even bring myself to keep reading for her sake.8. Oh! And there's one part where she gives her usual story and doesn't mention actual years or ages or anything and from that, Carson assumes ages and that she's legal, even though at the beginning, she's still hiding from cops because she's afraid of being turned in to foster care as a runaway.9. I have a headache reading all these 5 star reviews.
Outlawed LustCarson is Elizabeth’s savior in this dark, gritty, cruelly twisted and violent romance.Abused, raped, tortured, beaten and drugged as a young child of seven, escaping at fourteen, and living on the streets for five years had Elizabeth barely human when Carson noticed her.The heartbreaking journey filled with painful anguish and the brutal damaged man that saved her had my heart breaking for them both.I loved the way Carson fights to give Elizabeth what she needs even though he barely understood why he was so obsessed and compelled to care for her. Her history was brutal and ugly, but her strength was awesome.The abrupt ending was surprising but everything that lead up to the climax was spellbinding. Certainly not for the faint of heart and filled with sensitive trigger filled content. Well written and excellently executed very very dark drama.I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Elizabeth is young, homeless, and at he absolute lowest point.She's in Vegas, having left a bad foster care situation, with no money, no place to live, she's got a back pack and a cart and is living in a construction site.Carson is older, MC through and through. He first gives her money for water and then for food at a convenience store.One of his girls shot at Elizabeth. MC drama, of course.Elizabeth is fragile and damaged. Carson is her unexpected savior.I voluntarily reviewed this book.
This was a good story, but it was strange. The girl was really strange. She was so cowardly that it was a little unrealistic how she reacted to people. In real life, if she reacted like in this story, she would be in an institution. The story was also very disjointed with no flow. It was like things happened behind the scenes and then we'd come in on the middle of it. There were actions happening that were never explained. Like why did he need sutures after they had sex? They were a lot of moments like that. We don't really know the male pro either. We saw him, but never got a good feel of who he is other than a criminal. Anyway, I found myself skimming through the pages and couldn't finish the story.
This book very quickly had my complete attention with these engaging, complex characters, its gritty, potent story line and raw emotions. Carson and Elizabeth were amazing together and I loved the combination of heat and sweet that their attraction, chemistry and emotional connection gave off. Drama, action, suspense and an overall feeling of intensity, that keeps you on the razor's edge, as you wait to see what will happen next. This is only book one of the Black Angels series and by a completely new to me author, but this highly entertaining read left me eagerly looking forward to much more from both. This is my frank, freely posted review.
R.A. Black did a great job on Outlawed Lust, the story was well written with a strong plot that was filled with many emotions. There was drama, suspense, darkness and action. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat. Carson and Elizabeth were strong characters. Carson knew the moment he saw and saved Elizabeth he'd do anything for her, he'd protect her. These two were good for each other, healed together. Their connection and chemistry was strong. They were great together.This was a great story, I'd suggest reading.Thank you, R.A. Black. Great work :)
