The projects are a combination of traditional and contemporary – traditional in the designs and execution of the embroidery, but contemporary in their finished use. They vary in complexity, from small, accessible, and relatively quick projects to more complex finishes for clothing and household use.I love the colors and patterns! There are examples that demonstrate how color changes the look and feel of the same pattern – which is a good lesson for any kind of embroidery.Every project has a complete materials list, along with instructions for creating and finishing and all the charts necessary for stitching. I am always on the lookout for ways to make clothing last longer and this book lets me do that. The technique also lends itself to just pure enjoyment in making something with needle and thread. I have no idea how to pronounce the title, the technique, but it is much fun to learn and use. Anyone who enjoys the calm that comes with doing handwork will love this book.
This book offers SO MUCH MORE than just how to stitch this style of work. It would be fantastic for a beginner or an experienced stitcher.
Nice illustrations and narrative. Using for research and for cross stitching a chart.
