You can't go wrong with Rick Steves' books. One thing I would emphasize, which unfortunately he didn't*, is to get your Alhambra tickets far in advance. When we tried to purchase two days prior to going we were unsuccessful in doing so. Some say you can arrive early, stand in line and likely get a ticket--NOT! No one in line got a ticket. We did find that you can stroll the grounds and view a lot of it for free though. But seeing the Nasrid Palaces is something we were disappointed to miss.(An updated edition came out soon after we bought ours. Perhaps the new addition corrects the omission of the Alhambra info.)
A very confusing book. I was with a group in Sevilla and we did the white villages outside of Sevilla. We only spent one night (at the end) in Sevilla.The white villages were beautiful and we stayed in small, family owned hotels. It was a wonderful experience.
This book is a great help with planning our trip. Wish it was available digitally.
Looking forward to Spain this summer. Love Rick Steves' books. Never had a bad experience following his recommendations.
Typical of what we expect of Rick Steves. Covers major sites, doesn't try to cover all sites. And gives excellent pointers for travelers to prepare.
Small and chock-full of useful information. I would not leave without it.
Great book but his full Spain book was much more. Redundant to have both.
Information was good, but just too much. It was difficult to sift through the TMI while out and about.
