I have utilized several resource tools to study for the CNE. When I received this I picked it up thinking I would read a chapter maybe. 6 hours later I had completely finished the entire book. The book is well put together reads easily and the questions at the end of each chapter help you to assess your recall of the content you just finished. It's not by any means a one and only study guide, but it is a excellent addition to tools to use in order to prepare for and pass the CNE. Very quick receipt of my order once placed.

I passed the CNE exam! I agree with others that there is not ONE book that will prepare you, but instead you will need to study from multiple sources. I primarily used Caputi's book, along with Billing's and Halstead's book. I also attended a live prep course and listened to Billing's webinar (multiple times). Give yourself plenty of time to prepare.

I used this book primarily for reviewing for the exam bc it's from NLN and DID NOT pass the test. A lot of concepts are not clearly covered in the text like ADA accommodation and licensure liabilities. The "scholarships" were also not explained very well, I found myself guessing a ton during the exam. You are also not allowed a calculator but there's a question about calculating a student's percentage grade (I'm not talking about the p value or PBCC or KR20, but the actual percentage so you can assign a letter grade). I also purchased the practice exams from the NLN website that cost me $60 each and they did not help. I have a terminal degree in education and have been teaching for 5 years just to give you perspective. I'm now looking for other sources to help. I took the test 12-31-18.

This is the best resource you can buy for studying for the CNE. Be sure & refer to the sources in the back of each chapter. Using that material I made myself a study guide - a refresher of my Master's materials & easily passed my CNE on the first attempt.I know you are looking at this because you want to take the CNE but I have to say - I am also really glad I got this book because there is really valuable information in it on all aspects of teaching & learning. I feel like I understand the theories better now as well as other aspects that will improve my practice.Good luck!

I took the test yesterday and passed! This book was incredibly helpful...I passed by 9 and did a whole lot of studying! This test was much more difficulty than the NCLEX or CCRN! I used this book, went to a live review session, watched a review session by Billings on Nurse Tim, read the 2nd edition of the Whitmore book, and purchased both SAEs.I highly recommend this book!

I haven't taken the test yet - but the chapter questions are annoying - the right answer fails to mention which example its referring to - and worse for me anyway - the rationales do not consistently address the wrong answers - why is the answer scholarship of application versus integration etc. I think I'm fussy - I'm not thrilled with the Mometrix book either. I have written content for one of these big review companies and I understand that different people develop different sections - but continuity is definitely necessary as far as I'm concerned. I will definitely being schecking other resources, and I will update my review after I complete the exam.

This book is the key to exam success. Perfect description of the test and many helpful hints. The review questions were very helpful.

This book is one of the the NLN's recommendation to study for the CNE exam certification. You cannot go wrong in adding this book to your study list! The book covers all topics necessary.
