About the Author

I bought this book as a gift for my son. He had just bought himself his 1st John Deere riding-mower / leaf-collector, as he's always dreamed of having one. When I gave him this book his eyes popped with amazement !! There is sooooo much information and photos from the "beginnings" of John Deere to the present-day of John Deere(s). He was so impressed that he's going to place it on his living-room coffee-table, that is, when he's not in the midst of being engrossed with it himself !! I'm so glad I found this item to give him.
Gift for father in law who was a farmer. Well received and he has spent hours looking at the book and telling stories. Well worth it.
This is a fun read for anybody interested in John Deeretractors and the technology evolution from the very beginning.Make a great gift.
The facts are accurate. The early years up to the New Generation tractors was interesting and told a great history. The later years were a little short on history and verbiage.
Library book. No purchase. I have read most of Randy Leffingwell's books on cars and other types of machinery. Very well written and super interesting. This one is no different. If you are in the same boat as I am, you will not be disappointed. He scores again. My only beef w his publisher? Print the books in the USA, please. Not China. Leffingwell's part, however, is grand. Loved it.
This book is a good history of The John Deere Company and their tractors. The book is arranged chronologically starting with the very beginning. The text is accompanied with wonderful photographs, including many rare tractors. I enjoy reading the stories behind the scenes. This book will make a wonderful gift. Enjoy
